BAZIS-Salon module is universe program that can be used by customers, furniture enterprise and salon designers. This is realized by three components of order management stages: electronic furniture catalogues generation, furniture placement in room and order management.

BAZIS-Salon module includes three separate programs, each of which automates a particular stage of furniture selling:

• Price-list manager – generation of electronic catalogues (price-lists) of furniture produced by enterprise or all the enterprises that work with furniture salon; it also groups them by functions, construction or other feature.
• BAZIS-Salon: Order control – automated orders generation for furniture producer.
• BAZIS-Salon: Interior – room modeling that takes its architectural peculiarities and interior elements into consideration for virtual placing of selected furniture models.

All the programs are fully compatible with each other and other BAZIS system modules. It allows to solve a wide range of important production tasks:

• To interest the client in production, graphically showing high-quality room image with placed furniture models in different perspectives.
• To get guaranteed profit because order cost is automatically corrected on the basis of prepared calculation algorithms that precisely account all production, transport and other costs and profit rate as well.
• To cut time of order making as much as possible due to production order automatic generation, it practically does not require any redesigning work.
• To exclude generation errors and recurring order approval with the client that is very typical of other variants of order making.

The client room model designing is one of the main operations at individual orders making for cabinet furniture production. It includes two logical stages:

1. «Virtual» room model creation, i.e. a model that precisely reflects its construction peculiarities.
2. Interior elements placing in a virtual room (mirrors, aquariums, vases, lamps, etc.).

Room overall dimensions are set first before room model creation. Then internal walls, columns, doors, windows, radiators, and other specified elements will be placed. Internal walls allow creating apartment models of several rooms and to design the indents that hinder furniture elements placing. The user can specify the distance between the floor and indent edge for overhang indents.

Any element is mounted fast and easy: the selected element model is automatically positioned to the nearest wall, and it will be «snapped» to the mouse cursor. When the cursor is moved, the element image will be also smoothly moved along the wall, its width and distance between the element and wall extreme points will be shown on the screen. To make the virtual room look more realistic, a corresponding color or texture will be assigned to each element.

In process of order making designer and the client strive for maximum correspondence of room virtual image to reality. The model is considered from different points of view and from different perspectives. The walls that hide interior view can be automatically taken away. It is also possible to lower the walls and dividers for better visualization.

In process of order making designer selects desired models from a price-list and places them in a room or hangs on the walls. Then he chooses the materials of front panels and cases that will match with the interior most of all. The following tools allow executing these operations fast and precisely:

• «Snapping» mechanism allows joining the elements to each other thus making the work easier and eliminating mounting errors.
• Positioning functions for fast and convenient models placing in particular room. This group commands allow placing the products on the floor or any other surface, mount them on the wall at some distance from the floor, move them up to the stop, and also mount several adjoining products along specified wall.
• Automatic control of room bounds exceeding and elements intersections.
• Fast material replacement of one product or all products of an order simultaneously without the whole interior rebuilding. It allows changing the color of entire composition and combine different variants and sets.
• Automatic product models or separate elements replacing (handles, legs, front panels, etc.) by the analogs from price-list.
• Standard elements mounting on the product, e.g., kitchen sinks, cooker hoods, gas or electric cookers and other household appliances.
• Adding of interior elements that the client plans to mount in the room (floor lamp, coffee table, armchairs, etc.).

If it is necessary to order nonstandard furniture models that are absent in a price-list, they can be easily designed in BAZIS-Woodworker or BAZIS-Cabinet modules and delivered to BAZIS-Salon module for placing in interior. It is also possible to transfer price-list models for dimensions editing. In both cases order new cost is calculated automatically.

In process of work with order designer can choose different finishing materials of thousand colors. BAZIS-Salon module allows estimating each variant creating photo like high quality image. For this purpose there are capabilities to regulate light intensity, materials transparency and reflectivity, shades and reflections.

Photorealistic interior image visualization is achieved due to light sources placing and their parameters' setup: light source type, brightness, color, cone size, falloff (for direct light), etc.

Moreover, the following details make interior more realistic: walls color, wallpaper design, floor type and color, such decorative accessories as flowers, TV set, books, pictures, curtains, etc. If necessary, animated images can be added to virtual scene, e.g., falling snow outside, cartoons on TV, etc.

BAZIS-Salon special capability is modeling of unfixed furniture elements movement. It includes hinged and sliding doors opening, drawers pulling-out, etc. This capability enhances effect of room viewing because it has practical importance — it checks whether other interior objects impede these elements.

The client usually experiments with three main things while kitchen furniture order making for its precise matching with other interior objects:

• Front panels. There is a great number of diverse front panels, at the same time one variant or another becomes fashionable. Beside fashion there are client’s personal preferences of great importance. He can evaluate all possible combinations to make a decision. Front panels in BAZIS-Salon module can be replaced very fast giving the client a chance to look through as many variants as possible.
• Color solutions. Modern decoration, painting and covering materials allow simulating any wood type or other materials: from plastic to leather. BAZIS-Salon module offers the client to appreciate material shades and textures thus changing the whole furniture set immediately.
• Exclusive features. Each client wants his kitchen to be different from other kitchen models. For this purpose it is often enough only one-two «zests»: sand-jet picture, 3D image film or stained-glass window. BAZIS-Salon allows showing these features to the client.

Besides, there are special tools in the module for fast creation of cornices, shaped worktops, wall plinths and diverse small decorative constructions, e.g., balustrades. Precise drafts for long objects are created with dimensions of the components.

Production task is a kind of document set that is a basis for order execution. Inasmuch as the orders can be realized in different ways – from shipment from stock to production and all products' assembly – there are several kinds of production tasks in BAZIS-Salon:

1. Order making specification via stock program.
2. Interior sketch with dimensions for furniture models. It includes designed models image with dimensions chain.
3. Special files of production task. To generate such tasks, select necessary orders and set parameters for task accurate determination. Prepared files can be saved in a file system (including data carriers, e.g., flash memory card, etc.) or sent by e-mail to another furniture enterprise for further execution and inclusion into production program according to specified schedule time.

Besides production tasks, it is possible to generate a report that contains summary data over some period of time. Each received order will be shown in one line of a Microsoft Excel sheet. It contains order date of receipt and its ID number, client data, price, order current state and other actual data. This information can be used for calculation operations in different enterprise departments (e.g., bookkeeping, sales department, etc.).

Final operation of order receipt is documents generation and printing, these documents fix contractual relations between furniture salon and the customer. The specialist of furniture salon specifies documents set for printing out.

Order management module realizes all the functions of operating connection between enterprises and furniture salon:

• Adding of models from BAZIS-Cabinet and BAZIS-Woodworker modules to an order with automatic cost calculation and editing possibility.
• Manual order editing via current price-list products use.
• Prompt receipt of up-to-date information about the order (payments, order stage, etc.).
• Network operation of several modules of order management via common database.
• Organization of allocated orders receipt by remote furniture salons.
• Directory creation of services cost and extended services that are not connected with furniture production (delivery, assembly, etc.).
• Creation of any kind of reporting documents (specifications, packing lists, invoices, etc.) according to templates generated via special in-built editor.
• Determination of order accompanying documentation structure and content for the purpose of its further automatic generation after approving by the client.
• Export of created documents to MS Excel and OpenOffice Calc formats.
• Order data export to files of dBase III (*.dbf) format.
