Automatic calculations
BAZIS is a specialized system of cabinet furniture automated design. All created models contain full parameters of particular furniture product.

On the basis of received information, BAZIS-Estimate module allows getting precise technical and economical indices at any designing stage.
Automatic calculations
The main principle of BAZIS-Estimate module work is that during model design, all costs structure and content will be generated according to the settings. This information depending on data from material and operation database is the basis for automatic calculation of the following parameters:
  • product or order materials amount and cost, including main and auxiliary materials, as well as tool degradation and equipment depreciation;
  • work content and cost of works of production of separate panel, the whole product and the whole furniture set;
  • prime cost calculation items (materials expenses, salary expenses, cost of transportation, electricity expenses, overhead expenses, profit, etc.) and product or order cost.
In the process of calculation, material and labor costs of product or product group production are taken into account. At materials cost calculation, the following parameters are taken into account:
  • main materials: wood particle board, fibreboard, glass, coating materials, accessories, etc.;
  • auxiliary materials: package, solvents, glues, varnishes, pains, etc.;
  • tools and necessary expendable materials: saw and undercutting disks, mills, grinding bands, screwdriver heads, etc.
Besides material costs, labor costs of technological operations are also taken into account:
  • linear or curvilinear part contour creation;
  • panel edges and faces coating;
  • panels painting;
  • mounting of profiles, edgings and other accessories;
  • operation reaming;
  • completed products assembly;
  • packaging, loading, unloading, installation works, finishing works, mounting and other auxiliary operations.
Setup of all the parameters and algorithms of economical indexes calculation is executed by the user on the basis of usable technological processes data and used calculation methods. Such work does not require programming, and it is fulfilled only once at system installation. It allows calculating automatically all further economical indexes, thus saving time many times.
Complete and accurate production expenses calculation
Economic indexes of BAZIS-Estimate module are full and precise. It makes it possible to use them not only for competitive and remunerative prices creation, but also for furniture production costs reduction, economically sound price reduction, product sales promotion in a highly competitive market.
Precise and full costs accounting
Different furniture enterprises use diverse ways of costs accounting, salary charging, profit regulation, equipment depreciation, active materials accounting, cost price calculation, etc. BAZIS-Estimate module can be specified for any kind of calculation methodology and enterprise accounting policy.

Model of furniture product is the main tool of universal economic calculations. It contains precise information about all materials of panels and parts, including special feature that defines each material consumption index. It can be:
  • area (wood particle board and fibreboard, coating plastic, etc.);
  • linear dimension (materials for edge coating, profiles, worktops, runners for sliding doors mechanisms, etc.);
  • piece accounting (accessories, drawer pull-out systems, lamps, etc.);
Besides, the model is data source for corresponding estimate generation on the basis of operation database – it is a full list of operations that form operating procedure of product or order generation as a whole. The following information of each operation can be viewed:
  • measurement unit of executed operation;
  • output norm;
  • operation full extent in product and in order;
  • work content in product and in order;
  • standard hour cost;
  • execution cost for product and for order.
Thus, all economic calculations are based on precise and reliable information about the product and its production technology. If necessary, it is possible to edit the results manually.

Besides, BAZIS-Estimate module allows executing two kinds of calculations:
  • salary of furniture enterprise workers on the basis of piece-work or team payment;
  • approximate execution time of product or order.
Unique mechanism of concomitant
Technological concomitant of BAZIS-Estimate module is incomparable with other analogous systems, in spite of similar names.

This system allows taking all production expenses of designed model into account: equipment amortization, tool degradation, material consumption, auxiliary operations, and many other parameters connected with technological process peculiarities.
Unique mechanism of concomitant
Technological concomitant is a list of materials and operations necessary for panel production and operations execution. Besides main materials that are present in a model, auxiliary materials are also used, e.g., glue for edge coating material gluing, or drive screws for cabinet back panel fastening. Such materials' consumption is calculated automatically on the basis of panel geometrical parameters and consumption norm specified by technological process.

The same situation concerns operations as well: particular materials can be used for operation execution, e.g., saws for cutting machine or borers for boring machine. Their number for each panel is specified by total number of operations for its processing. E.g., one meter cut execution cost is saved in database for sawing disk. On the basis of this value and automatically calculated all cuts value, the system will specify the disk cost part for product cost calculation.

Thus, technological concomitant is based on materials and operations chain creation for particular materials or operation. Concomitant chain length is not restricted, and it is specified only by technological processes peculiarities and account policy of the enterprise. All information about materials and operations is saved in corresponding databases. This work is fulfilled once at BAZIS system installation. Later it can be edited for breakthrough technologies and new materials' application.

Competent use of technological concomitant in BAZIS-Estimate module allows taking all the peculiarities of any enterprise work into account. Due to unrestricted concomitant mechanism use, it can be set for production and economic conditions of particular enterprise.
Material and work databases
Material and operation database creation is very important step of BAZIS system application in enterprise. Database's structure and content correspondence to reality is the basis for technical and economic indices' accuracy.

BAZIS system has many designing tools that help the specialists create necessary databases fast and easy.
Material and work databases
Material database has clear hierarchical structure that divides all the materials into groups and subgroups for convenient search. Each group is made of similar materials that can be united by common technological function and belonging to one material and technical stock. The example of typical group is sheet materials, edge coating materials, glues and solvents, accessories, finishing materials, etc.

Each of the materials has a list of the following parameters:
  • material name and cost;
  • coefficient of material technological expenditure;
  • material measurement units;
  • material code used in connection with stock control automated system;
  • material class for prime-cost calculation.
Operation database is created in the same way. For work content accounting, the following indices are included into it:
  • output norm (e.g., for linear cutting — either «meters per minute», or «minutes per meter»);
  • operation standard hour cost;
  • operation work content dependence on processed materials (boring of holes of the same diameter in wood or in granolith has different work content and different tool expenditure);
  • model parameter used for work content calculation (e.g., coated edge's total length for coating operation).
Common structures of both databases specify common work methods. For successful BAZIS-Estimate module work, it is reasonable to do the following preliminary organizational arrangements:
  • assign database administrator responsible for its filling and further workability support;
  • develop and maintain the principles and order of material names creation;
  • develop and maintain classification and encoding system conformed to automated stock system;
  • systematize material and part suppliers for material database filling.

When materials and operations are added to a database, concomitant operations and materials can be added to them. In turn, they specify concomitant material expenditure norm respectively to main material expenditure unit or operation execution unit. E.g., concomitant operations to wood particleboard can be cutting and holes boring that may need concomitant materials: disk saw and cylindrical drill.

Parts and projects cost calculation
BAZIS-Estimate module allows calculating materials' consumption, labor content, production cost and other economic indexes for each separate part as well as for the whole furniture project.
Panels and projects cost calculation
The project in BAZIS system is a set of products that build an order or form a calendar work stage of an enterprise. It is used for simultaneous processing of product group data that should be produced in one common stage. Thus, all order products will have common estimate and common request for materials to production writing-off.

BAZIS-Estimate module allows getting automatically any kind of technological and economic characteristics of the whole project and its separate elements, united by some criteria. E.g., it is possible to get objective information about any stage of edge coating area productivity. This not only ensures economically sound pricing and technological policy, but it also provides valuable information for break-even analysis including dynamic analysis of enterprise activity, products cost saving planning, payback time of new equipment and technologies specification, etc.

Time of any project data receipt is of critical importance. It takes only several minutes to get all necessary information for the most complex projects.
Materials and operations grouping
Module allows grouping materials into classes, thus giving an opportunity to create flexible accounting forms, precise price formation factors, production process planning and analysis.
Materials and operations grouping is a dynamic process, and it may be changed depending on assigned tasks.
Materials and operations grouping
Materials and operations can be grouped so, thus providing opportunities for convenient work with database and precise accounting of technological peculiarities for production costs calculations. Group is an arbitrary set of united materials and operations by user decision.

E.g., it is possible to group used linear materials and create several subgroups: wood particleboard, fibreboard, MDF, etc. The same actions can be executed with accessories, and two subgroups can be created: fasteners and decorative accessories. It allows calculating prime-cost and take different material groups expenses into account. Here is the following example. Subgroups are created according to used material thickness for disk saw precise consumption normalization per one linear meter for wood particleboard.

Material and operation groups allow controlling level of detail of expenditures calculation. E.g., it is possible either to account precisely, saw degradation depending on material thickness or to ignore saw degradation dependence on material thickness and to use some kind of general consumption norm. It is possible for all the materials and operations.

Another method of materials and operations classification is to join them into classes. Class is a set that includes materials or operations united by the user. Groups and classes exist independently of each other. Materials joining into classes is used for document datasets creation and pricing peculiarities accurate accounting.

Principles of materials and operations classification can be very diverse, e.g., it is possible to join main usable materials in one class, auxiliary materials — into another, tool degradation — into a third one. Operations can be joined into classes according to technological areas and departments for the purpose of work content specification and salary expenses value for separate areas and departments in particular product prime cost.
Program close integration with stock control automation module
Another effect of BAZIS-Estimate module use can be achieved at its connection with BAZIS-Stock module.

This capability allows creating material and part requests for production, specifying their amount. Thus, a general information environment of design, economic calculations, material support and furniture production will be created.
Close integration with module of stock control automation
Materials full list for product creation generated in BAZIS-Estimate module is in fact an order request. It can be saved in special format for transfer to BAZIS-Stock module that is a system of material stock automation integrated into common information environment of furniture enterprise. It allows merging and optimize the work of design departments, supply department and material and part stock that leads to regular production support.

A side benefit of BAZIS-Estimate and BAZIS-Stock integration is optimization of material and parts stock that allows to reduce unproductive costs. It is a direct way to product prime cost decrease and enterprise competitive growth.
Reports generation
BAZIS-Estimate is universal automatic module that allows to support different variants and methods of technical-economic indicators estimation at furniture enterprises.

BAZIS-Estimate module difference is that the users who possess no economic knowledge can make necessary calculations and generate reports on their own.
Reports generation
Calculations methodology in BAZIS-Estimate module is realized on the basis of algorithms and approaches of particular enterprise. Thus, datasets are processed in user specified view. The user can set not only tables and specifications view, but he can also determine data type.

BAZIS-Estimate module allows keeping multilevel analytical accounting. E.g., the same materials or operations can be included into different groups. It allows viewing in documents estimate indicators actual for current situation. E.g., for order cost calculation necessary for economists the data results are shown with maximum level of detailing, but at order receipt – only final figures.

To create datasets of arbitrary structure, the notion of classes is used, that unites materials, operations, and items of expenses. If required, the classes are grouped into tables for necessary documents creation. E.g., on the basis of two classes – sheet and coating materials, it is possible to create a common list of database materials.

Calculation results of BAZIS-Estimate module can be saved for further use in four ways:
  • in separate files of BAZIS system format;
  • in internal format;
  • in MS Excel or DBF formats;
  • in model of designed product.
Data export and import
BAZIS-Estimate module supports data export and import in the most universal formats (*.txt, *.xls, *.dbf).

This capability allows integrating the module into factory automation systems.
Data export and import
Different automation systems can be used for furniture enterprise automation control. In any case the basis for automation systems work is information created at stage of design, technological preproduction and products creation. This information is concentrated in BAZIS-Estimate module at BAZIS system use. It is fully reliable and very important for tasks planning, analysis and prediction of enterprise activity.

BAZIS-Estimate module flexibility and calculations universality is achieved via several modes of source data input. First, the main part of information is «read» from the model automatically. Its second part is also automatically taken from database as main and concomitant materials and operations. Finally, information third part can be added manually by the user.

In process of calculations, any parameter can be edited, data missing in database can be added and generated estimates can be used. Resultant data are processed in table view and can be printed out or exported to outer systems. Dataset tables view can be set by the user.
